Plurp Podcast #1
In this, our inaugural podcast, we explore the exciting new
medium of podcasting. And we do mean new. It's kind of like radio, podcasting
is, except, of course, that the production values are terrible. This particular
podcast is produced in our richly-tiled bathroon, to ensure the lush audio
atmosphere of the podcast genre. It's also recorded using the unbelievably
cheap microphone in our laptop, and we'll be sure to speak at our usual
warp speed, so it'll be astonishing if you can understand us at all. And
of course, we'll definitely avoiding actually speaking into the microsphone.
Podcasts are also a bit unlike radio in that they are done by complete
amatures like us, with no training in either the form or the content of
broadcasting, so they are much less interesting than radio. Naturally,
we don't believe in editing, or other commercial techniques to improve
the quality of out product. Hence the crappy sound.
Not only that, but us cutting edge podcasters talk about thing that
are only of interest to us. Whatever idiocy comes into out small minds,
the subject of our obsessions like, well, like podcasting. And that means,
that, uh ...
So, OK, we forgot where we were going with that and, so ... oh yeah
- lousy presentation, crummy content, weirdly idiosyncryatic subject matter
designed primarly to stroke our own feable egos. Right. Podcasts aren't
like radio at all. Podcasts are like weblogs. Except that you can't
skip over them when they get boring.
So we want to thank you for supporting us in our foray into this brave
new medium. This brave new medium that you can only experience on your
iPod. And certainly not by, you know, reading.
Plurp Podcast # 2
Several of you felt cheated by the abbreviated length of our
first podcast. So, fine. We can fix that. In this, our second podcast,
we introduce you to the activity that has recently consumed all of our
time and all of our few remaining brain cells: Halo. We'll give you that
same in-the-podcast-culture production values that you loved in Plurp Podcast
# 1. But, this time, we won't bore you with all of that annoying narrative.
Instead, we'll just let you sit there, or stand there, or whatever it is
that you're doing, and listen to us play Halo. To keep it exciting, we're
going to play capture the flag in Battle Creek.
